Not All Lids Are the Same: Key Features to Consider

Printable travel mugs typically feature the classic lid with an opening, allowing for comfortable drinking without spills while maintaining the drink's temperature.

However, not every model uses the standard silicone lid. We offer leakproof and spill-resistant designs for safer transportation, and even some airtight options for carrying in a bag.

Additionally, some lids screw on, while others are press-fit, allowing for easy opening and closing with a simple motion. Certain designs feature easy-open lids, so you can sip without removing the cover.

Other options include sliding openings, or even lids with no spouts at all.

Plastic, Ceramic, Steel… Which Material Should You Choose?

The most classic option is Plastic PP (Polypropylene): lightweight, durable, heat-resistant, and recyclable. They are BPA-free and generally the most budget-friendly choice.

Glass: Particularly borosilicate glass, offers an elegant finish, excellent thermal resistance, and does not transfer flavour to the drink.

Ceramic and Porcelain: Both robust and durable, with porcelain being the higher-quality choice.

Finally, Stainless Steel is the most resistant and long-lasting material. It’s easy to clean and suitable for laser engraving.

Remember that some materials transfer heat more than others, so if your cup includes a silicone band, always keep it in place when drinking.

Cleaning Your Promotional Travel Mugs

Proper cleaning and drying are essential to prevent mould and unpleasant odours.

Each material requires specific care, so we recommend carefully reading the instructions for your chosen model. For example, borosilicate glass and stainless steel are dishwasher-safe, but plastic and silicone are not.

If your travel mug has removable parts, disassemble them to ensure a thorough clean. Make sure all pieces are completely dry before reassembling.

For all printed mug models, we recommend handwashing to preserve the logo, as methods like pad printing can be easily damaged.

Rinse with hot water before using detergent to remove residue. Use a mild, non-abrasive soap and a soft sponge to avoid scratching the surface. Take extra care with the exterior to prevent premature wear of the logo.
